Do You Have A New Years Resoution?

My "New Years Resolution" is to try to get healthier in 2009.....
I found some great info on the net that really inspired me and it really wasn't anything I didn't already know but the reinforcement of reading it really hit home with me the last few weeks so I am going to try the baby steps approach and try small changes at the time and see if that works better than the crash diets I have done in the past. Here is a paragraph from my findings below...
Did You Know?
Small changes can make a major impact. The CDC found that participating in moderate physical activity, such as walking for 30 minutes at least five times a week, substantially lowered the risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, colon cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity.

Yeah, I probably have read this info many times but never really thought that much about it because I have been on sooooo many diets and played the yo-yo game with my weight for too many years and this year I turned 41 and my weight caught up with me and has affected my overall health I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol and went from Hypoglycemia to High Triglycerides and several other health issues this year and that scared the heck out of me because although I have always been a big girl and always will be it had never affected my health I was pretty much a somewhat healthy overweight person...Anywho..I am going to try the small changes (like in the paragraph above I found on the CDC website) and buy only fresh veggies and fruit and grill my meats and eat low fat snack and just go from there.

Thanks so very much for listening to me I really feel like putting it in writing would help me to stay on track because I have to try harder this time::)) Wish me luck::))

Okay, If you have a New Year Resolution that you are making tell me about it::))
Hugs!!!!!

Have a super fun and safe New Year's Eve we are having a party tonight with a few of our friends and family and do Low Country Boil, Roast Marshmallow on the fire(my last indulgence before starting the healthier lifestyle)maybe some frozen concoctions (bad bad I know)and end the night with some safe fireworks::))I will be back w/some pictures to share tomorrow...

I need to be there beside you every step of the way. I have good incentive just need to get started. With Katlyn graduating in May, I need to shed a few pounds and if I get back to it so will she. Maybe we can all help one another.

Have a Happy New Year! I think I'm going to try to get in better shape and do my treadmill more often :) I think it'd be good if I can lose another 20 pounds!
I also think I'm going to do the Project 365 thing if I can order the kit in the morning.

I sure did get a wake up call this year! It isn't the first one either. It is so easy to fall back into bad habits. I think the baby steps is a great idea. My New Year's Resolutions will be to relax and get healthier too. I wish I lived closer and I would walk with you! Have a great time tonight and a wonderful New Year.

Your list and mine look very similar. I'm so looking forward to 2009. I really hope we can come to Savannah sometime this year for a visit!

It was wonderful talking to you on the telephone yesterday. I'm so sorry for all of the "Griffin" interruptions. He was quite the busy boy yesterday!

Happy New Year my dear friend!
