Home Schooling....Have I lost my mind??

Now that I have had time to let it sink into my brain I think the answer is "no" I am not crazy....Just concerned about my boy:)

After much research and soul searching I have decided to home school my son. There is no "one" particular reason that stands out in my mind but a collection of reasons for several years now I could write a list of them but I will spare you the boredom what matters most is that it is a decision that myself/hubby didn't take lightly and it has been a positive experience for me so far.It has only been 2 weeks but a good start for us:) We are doing the ABecka Academy curriculum to finish out this year and I am not sure what we will do for 7th grade I am researching all possibilities right now so that:)

We are leaving tomorrow to go to Tn. to play in the snow we are taking our first "Field Trip" to study frozen precipitaion..ummm..yeah that's what we will study:)
This is a pic taken last week in the Great Smoky Mountains:) I hope I can get some good pics while we are up there:)

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

Hugs!

Have fun!!! I know you will. Homeschooling can be as easy or as difficult as you make it. You'll be great! I just love how my perspective has changed making everything a lesson of some kind. With the craziness of school;getting up, getting ready, getting there, coming home, homework, yada yada yada, what parent has time to delve into things to study independently??? You'll be great and Cole will benefit SO much!

Cecile, I wish you the best of luck with home schooling. I have several friends who have chosen to home school their children and it has been a wonderful experience for all of them. You are a great mother and know what is right for Cole and your family. The best part? Extra field trips! =)

When I lived in Washington State, more people that I knew homeschooled their kids than those who did not. I wish you all the best with this!!!!
